THEOREM OF PARALLEL AXIS

According to the Theorem of parallel axis: I _AB = I _G + A x h ²,

• I _G = moment of inertia of given area about an axis passing through C.G. of the area.

• A = Area of section

• I _AB = moment of area of given area about axis AB, which is parallel to the axis passing through G

• h = distance between the axis passing through G and axis AB.
